SPECTRA MULTIMEDIA'S FILM FEATURING ACTRESS PRIYANKAA GOES ON FLOORS

ACTRESS PRIYANKAA MAY BE CONTACTED ON:
priyankaa.mumbai@gmail.com

By Frank Franklyn – Futuristic Media Network

Spectra Multimedia began shooting for its regional, multi-lingual film featuring Actress Priyankaa at a lavish set about 25 kilometers from Panvel, on the outskirts of Mumbai.

The huge set was constructed at a cost of about Rs 50 lakh – a record for a regional film. About 100 labourers, 50 skilled technicians, 10 electricians and 5 engineers were involved in the construction of the set which boasts of several technical marvels that will help Spectra Multimedia shoot different aspects of the film on a rotating, revolving podium. Each time the podium is moved, it will enable the director to use different backgrounds or facades as may be required for the film.

Spokesperson and Executive Producer for Spectra Multimedia, Flynn Remedios said, “While we would not like to specify the exact budget of this film, it is definitely a big budget project when compared to the standards of the regional or Marathi film industry.”

The Mumbai-based Film and TV software Production House Spectra Multimedia had a few weeks ago signed a 3-film deal with upcoming regional actress Priyankaa. All three films will be made in Marathi and are expected to be completed by this year-end or mid 2010. While one film will be a family comedy, another will be based on a historical story. The third and last film is expected to be a suspense thriller, according to a release issued by the company. According to Flynn Remedios, “While the films will be primarily in Marathi, they would have a multi-lingual approach with added dialogues in Hinglish to give them a larger appeal.” Spectra Multimedia through its distribution partners will release these films all over the country, he added.

By virtue of this 3-film deal, actress Priyankaa is also into a two-year exclusive artiste management contract with Spectra Multimedia who will handle all her film, advertising, endorsement and branding assignments.

Spectra Multimedia has been into Film and TV Production consultancy, co-ordination, management and marketing for the last two years. The company has successfully marketed and promoted several regional film projects and music videos in the past and is also producing crossover films in Hindi, Punjabi and English for the international market. Their specialization includes projects for International Film Festivals and DVD/VCD film marketing.

PLEASE JOIN THE SUPPORT JYOTHI VENKATESH CAMPAIGN

Dear friends in the Media and all Indians,

Freelance film journalist Jyothi Venkatesh, whom I have known for the last 13-15 years as a lovable, helpful and jovial scribe, was arrested on Friday (2nd May) by the Versova – a part of Andheri in suburban Mumbai - police as a co-accused in a culpable homicide not amounting to a murder case.

While I do not want to get into the details of the case and wouldn’t want to influence, hamper or disturb the police investigation in anyway, I know that Jyothi is innocent. His only crime was that he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He probably just took a lift home after work (probably after attending a filmi party) and ended up in the wrong car with the wrong person.

His only crime was that he didn’t go to the police after knowing that the car he was in (or the driver who was driving the car he was in, had accidentally or without intention to, or in a temporary loss of reason) had knocked down two persons – one of them fatally - who were threatening him over a financial dispute.

Maybe Jyothi thought he would go to the police the next day. Maybe he thought he would contact his lawyers before going there. Whatever be the reason, I find it impossible to even dream that Jyothi Venkatesh – who has helped several struggling Bollywood actors in the last two decades, would have tried to avoid the law or would have been involved in anything illegal.

For those of you who are unaware of the case here are the press reports (based on info given out by the police in their FIR, which is normally the prosecution or police story)

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/Mumbai/Film-journalist-aide-held-for-running-over-man/articleshow/4479962.cms

While the law has to take its course, Jyothi needs to be treated fairly, as a human being and as a respectable member of our civilized society. I am told that his family members who tried to visit him at the general police lockup next to Andheri (East) Police Station were not allowed to give him basic amenities like a change of clothes, soap, a towel, toothbrush, etc.

While a known terrorist Ajmal Kasab who cold-bloodedly mowed down over 50 persons and threatened the peace of the entire city and the nation at large has the gumption to ask for perfumes and newspapers and wants to take a walk around the Arthur Road Prison premises like a lord and is given a separate cell with an exclusive toilet and water tap connection, Jyothi Venkatesh will have to share a barrack with 180 persons (a barrack which is meant to house not more than 70 persons) and will also have share two water tap outlets with 200 plus inmates.

While every minor change in the health, heartbeat or skin condition of terrorist Ajmal Kasab is monitored by jail doctors, Jyothi Venkatesh who brought us juicy tidbits from the entertainment world for over two decades will have to share ‘daris’ that are not washed for months, that are infected by lice, moths and every known bacterium in the living world.

While Kasab’s food has to strictly confirm to the stipulations of the Jail Manual, Jyothi will get hot coloured water called dal and hardened, semi-cooked rotis – better for burning in the ‘handi’s’ than for eating.

Friends (and enemies too who keep circulating defamatory, false and damaging emails about me to my clients and colleagues) Jyothi doesn’t deserve to be sent to Arthur Road Jail, which he will not be able to avoid once he is granted judicial custody.

Under section 302 IPC (or 304 IPC) under which Jyothi is being held by the police, he cannot be granted bail by the Magistrate’s Court. Technically speaking, the Sessions Court – which can grant him bail - will only entertain his bail application when the mandatory Police Remand expires and Jyothi is sent to JC or Judicial Custody. This means that Jyothi will have to spend time at Arthur Road Jail and cannot avoid a visit to the Bombay Central Prison as it’s also called.

and leave your comments by using the comments form at the bottom of the post in support of Jyothi Venkatesh demanding of the authorities that he be treated fairly, humanely and hopefully better than how terrorists are treated in this country. (And also demand his prompt release as permitted under the provision of law)

Sincerely
Flynn Remedios

GERMAN SUPERMODEL CLAUDIA CIESLA SALMAN KHAN’S LATEST MUSE??

© Flynn Remedios – Futuristic Media Network

Well, well, wanna hear what a little birdie told me on V-Day? Apparently our dear Sallu bhai has a new ‘interest’. And the girl in question is none other than German super model Claudia Ciesla.

According to my birdie sources, Salman met the dashing 5.10 feet beauty at J W Marriott recently and even sent a car to pick her up. Now any journalist, budding actor or producer who has ever tried to get an interview or appointment with Sallu bhai knows how difficult it is, but for the sexy Claudia it was just cake walk or should we say ramp walk for Sallu went out of his way to extend the red carpet to the doe-eyed beauty.

So impressed was Sallu that he even promised her a role in one of his forthcoming films. Now, we wonder what Kats has got to say to that.

Salman was unavailable (to lesser mortals like myself) for comment and in spite of several attempts, we were unable to get thru to Sallu bhai.

According to Wikipedia and her own website, Claudia Ciesla (not Claudia Schiffer please) is a German model, actress, and singer of Polish descent. She grew up in the town of Bukow, Poland. Her father is Polish and her mother is German.

Ciesla started modeling at the age of 15 working for shows involved in fashion and dancing. At the age of 17 she moved to Bamberg, Germany and became an Internet glamour model. Her original stage name is "CClaudia", but she also appears frequently under her real name. She then appeared in print in the German Matador magazine.

She was discovered by the former German Chief Editor, Stefan Gessulat, and appeared in the August 2005 Matador issue as Miss Matador. She has done many glamorous bikini and fashion modeling shoots and her photos have been published on many Internet websites.

The Wiki entry also goes to add that the German newspaper Bild arranged an examination of Ciesla by a plastic surgeon and reported that her breasts (38DD) were entirely natural.

Claudia shot for the German-Indian Film "Ki Jana Pardes" in 2008. In Aug/Sept Claudia shot in Kolkatta playing the role of a German journalist for the Film "10:10" together with award winning filmstar Soumitra Chatterjee and sang the title song of this movie.

Claudia and her Business Manager – the affable and very lovable Greg - were in Mumbai last week to dub for her second Hindi movie titled Karma. She also interacted with media persons and posed for photographs, but refused to comment on her meeting with Salman Khan.

She even did a photo session with Bollywood fashion and couture designer Umair Zafar in exclusive bridal designer wear during her visit to Mumbai.

NOW OWN THE MOON - OR AT LEAST A PART OF IT

By Flynn Remedios – Futuristic Media Network

Yes you read right – now you can have the Moon or at least a small piece of it. And the price tag isn’t that steep either. Just about Rs 4 to 5 lakh to have a piece of the Moon in your own very bedroom. Wanna know more.. Read on….

To commemorate 40 years of Man’s first steps on the Moon, international art book publishers Taschen have come out with a special Limited Edition of journalist Norman Mailer’s book MoonFire. While the original book by Norman Mailer titled MoonFire: From Planet Earth: The Epic Journey of Apollo 11, is priced at GBP 600 and is also a Limited Edition book, Taschen recently announced a special Limited Edition of just 20 copies accompanied by a small piece of original Moon Rock. And the entire lot was sold out within a few days.

While the exact price hasn’t been disclosed yet – the book is expected to be available May end or June this year – sources said it could be in the range of Rs 4-5 lakh. Each of the 20 books will be accompanied by a certified piece of Moon Rock encased in a decorative, ornamental casket, said Gangadharan Javahar of Dolphin Publications Pvt Ltd, representatives of Taschen in India.

Dolphin is one of Taschen’s distributors in India and the largest distributor of foreign books in the country. Javahar himself an avid book lover went to a great extent to order a copy of the Special Limited Edition book. Thanks to Gangadharan Javahar, Indians will have an opportunity to own some part of the moon right here in India. “When I got to know about this book, I immediately wrote to Taschen to reserve a copy for me. I was lucky. Had I to be late by a day, the last two copies would have been sold out, he said adding, “While I have got one book confirmed for my book store Indus, I am trying to get another copy for my personal collection,” says Javahar. So exclusive is the book and so great the demand internationally that the publishers were reluctant to ‘sell’ more than one copy to each distributor.

Speaking to this journalist at the Collector’s Book Festival at Indus – the Book store at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, Javahar said, “Yes we have ordered the Moon Rock book as it’s called. Though the book is yet to be delivered we have got several enquiries for the book. We plan to auction the book along with some other Limited Edition and Collectors Books later this year.”

Javahar who runs Indus – the Bookstore, an exclusive store for book lovers at the Grand Hyatt in suburban Mumbai said that during the Collector’s Book Festival currently being held at the store from 3rd to 15th April, several Limited Edition and Collectors books each costing a small fortune will be on display. Most of these books weigh several kilograms and come encased in a decorative box. Many books are hand signed and hand-numbered and are rare as only a few hundred copies of the books are printed world over.

Indus currently houses over a hundred Limited Edition and Collector’s titles, explained Javahar, adding that the auction will pave the way for a new lot of similar exclusive books. Indus – the book store is located at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, which has a luxury mall housing most of the world’s leading luxury brands. It also has another outlet at The ITC Maratha Sheraton, Mumbai and the Taj Residency, Nashik all of which boast of some of the rarest of rare books published on earth.

The Moon Rock book will have exclusive, some as yet unseen photos of Apollo 11’s mission to the Moon, the preparations before D-day and the return to earth. It will have extensive interviews by both Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin. The original book was written by Mailer – then with Life Magazine – who had hired him exclusively for the job.

THE COLLECTOR’S BOOK FESTIVAL – A SPECIAL DISPLAY AND DISCOUNT SALE OF LIMITED EDITION AND EXCLUSIVE BOOKS IS ON FROM 3RD TO 15TH APRIL AT INDUS – THE BOOKSTORE, GRAND HYATT, KALINA, MUMBAI
